You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I ride a single speed inbred 29er. I love it. Not because it is the best bike money can buy, but because I can ride it anywhere anytime and not spend much time having to fix it. great.
I recently fitted a new chain, chain-ring and sprocket. I bought a Gusset slink 1/2 link chain in lovely anodised green ( who wouldn't??)
every single ride has required me to adjust the rear wheel as the chain stretches, what a load of junk. The previous chain was a KMC something or another and it never needed any adjustment.
needless to say I have now ordered another KMC one.
I am sure you don't care, I don't really but a chain that stretches every ride is utter crap. how do they get away with make such substandard kit?
1/2 link chains always stretch because of the link shape - the L-bend tries to straighten out.
Ah, that makes sense. I wish I'd known that before wasting time and money buying one.
It was bike karma for having a green chain 😉
