Only the 30 miler, but still 😯 😮

I'll have my suit ready for the funeral - he's not even a cyclist of any sort...

Hope he has a great time. I marshalled last year, was a fantastic day, lots of happy, tired people on bikes!

No idea, this is an early 70's Mk1 that he paid £1100 for - it's pristine though

Now I've spunked some cash on retrobikes in my time, but HOW MUCH?

And here he is - photo courtesy of Villager Jim on Facebook

Fair play, he completed it in a respectable time

Needs to try harder next time, I was marshalling on the 50/100mile route and had a guy on a gigantic penny farthing, a guy on a blue BSA shopping bike and several early Moulton's with tiny wheels.

Kudos to all those that did the rides though and some beautiful bikes being ridden.

Guessing it's the guy who works at Stanley Fearns in Matlock - he rides it quite a lot...

My wife spotted your friend on the 30 miler; I followed Penny Farthing man up and down the hill to Chatsworth. That was an education.

2 questions:

A) did he wheelie it ? (Like everyone could wheelie a chopper, it was in the manual that came with the bike)
B) has he still got his balls ? (That gearshift was brutal in endos)

😆

Good on him - much more fun/interesting than 100s of hipsters pretending they were into road racing 'back in the day'.

To be fair, he probably would be in distress riding that round L'Eroica.

The claim that the term Union Jack properly refers only to naval usage has been disputed, following historical investigations by the Flag Institute in 2013.[5][6][note 2]
