Fitted Blutos to my Fatty. They are set at 120mm and the frame is designed for 100mm.

On 2 down hills yesterday it felt as if my headset was done  up too tight and the bike wouldn't turn.

Everywhere else it was fine even on the fastest bit.

Bike was at it's worst on a track with a big rain  water gulley worn into it. My narrow bike was fine on it the other week.

Thinking it might be the tyres but its something I've never had before.

If the geometry was compromised by the forks ,surely it would feel bad all the time?

The faster you're going, the greater the self-centering forces from the steering trail, so that's when the steering will feel heaviest. I don't know if the weight and contact patch of fat tyres makes that more extreme.

On the trails in question it felt  so scary and was so overgrown I was doing 10 mph tops,  Strava had me at 34mph on the big  downhill iand t felt great.

Must be the tyres.
