You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I picked up a piece of slate in my front wheel and kinked a couple of spokes (pic).
Having straightened them out a bit, and re-tensioned, I thought it wise to buy a few spares.
268mm plain gauge 2mm black stainless for front & NDS rear, plus some 266mm ones for drive-side rear (Giant S-XC2 650b wheels).
After a frustrating evening on various web sites (J E James, CRC, Wiggle, Evans, Edinburgh, ebay & others), I cannot find anywhere in the UK that has these in stock as singles.
(Bike 24 have them, but the shipping is more than the spokes, and they don't stock Nukeproof or Superstar disc pads which is the other thing I need whick would dilute the postage)
Any suggested sources?
Try Jon @ just riding along, I'm sure he'll be able to sort you out
LBS usually has some or can order singles.
St John street cycles (SJS if you are searching on google) sell packets of 6. Pretty cheap and seem to have plenty of stock of most options.

Must say I'm struggling to think of any distributor who'll sell single spokes. LBS is a good shout though.
OP - you don't need plain gauge, double butted will be fine, and open more options.
Bike shops are the answer.
Have you been through a bike shop and spoken to Jon at Giant? Almost certain he will sort you out.
I saw this the other day over on Retrobike..

My loft normally has a reasonable selection
But this is exactly the kind of thing your LBS should be able to help with, buying single spokes (or even < 5) online normally means paying over the odds for the spokes and then being hit for postage as well.
Thanks for the suggestions. 🙂
Unfortunately...
Just Riding Along - Out of stock for black plain gauge (Sapim Leaders cut to length)
SJS - don't stock plain gauge in black (DT Swiss Champion) - would have to order a box of 72 (I asked).
Nothing suitable in the Retrobike list 🙁
I had contacted Giant who suggested that I bring the wheel in for them to look at (~2 hour round trip).
My last attempt to buy a spoke from LBS didn't go well - I ended up driving around 3 or 4 shops to try and find something - anything - to rescue a 26" wheel. I ended up with a cheap zinc plated spoke that was completely the wrong gauge. It's partly that experience that's behind my current desire to source some spares before I'm stuck.
I wouldn't have thought it was a good idea to mix spoke gauges in a wheel - I would if I was stuck (see above), but since I've got the luxury(?) of time, I'd like to try and get like-for-like replacements.
I might give the LBSs & 'YourSpokes' a ring tomorrow and see what they have.
Maybe the Bike24 postage isn't so bad after all :-/
Thanks again.
You'll have two spokes that are better than the rest. That'll be it!
yourspokes sorted me out next day with exactly what I wanted. Used to use sdeals, but they were out of stock with the odd lengths I wanted (for a Rohloff build).
I have some spare 266 Halo DB black ones if you're stuck.

@bedmaker - thanks for the very kind offer, but I'm sorted now:

Good call, thanks.
Dylan had everything, including some other spokes, and they arrived next day. Excellent service 🙂
