... nothing planned just set off for 3 or 4 hours on the bike with a flask of coffee.
Just slumped with toasted crumpets, coffee and Pink Floyd at Knebworth at a disgusting volume.
If I don’t make the effort ‘new’ Sunday simply blurs into every other day of the week.
What are you guys up to today?

Cleaning the conservatory roof for me this morning.
I know how to have a good time, I do.
May also have a chat with my BIL in Manila as well.

Then taking the pooches for a nice long walk this afternoon.

"rest" day for me so no riding - current plans include baking bread (60/40 wholemeal plait with sunflower, poppy, sesame, chia, pumpkin and golden linseed - how STW!), gardening, planting veg, fettling with bikes, drinking coffee.

Broken from yesterdays ride so maybe a motorbike type of day methinks.

Maybe even look at new houses.

That chain ring is awesome. #moneysworth

Planting the veg patch, legs are in ribbons from yesterday's spin.

Then a few ales watching the FA cup.

Some enterprising kids have built a jump ramp on the estate, which is tempting as I'm trying to get comfortable with jumps.

Off to work delivering posh supermarket food. With a bit of luck my route will be a scenic drive around Todmorden and surrounding areas. More likely it'll be all evening stuck in Manchester City Centre.

Day off tomorrow, so planning a poodle on the bikes.

Family ride this morning 👍.

Got the bikes and family in the van eventuallythis morning after an hour and a half packing. Headed off to Curbar.

Got a mile down the road and an engine warning light came on.

Came home and spent half an hour unpacking.

Still, at least I don't need to wash the bikes....

Oh yes, and I'm back up to 85kg on the scales this morning too.

Tom-B we need evidence of the poodle on the bike, pics or it didn’t happen......

Back from the dog walking duties, home alone today so I’m going to get the bike out again for another roll around the railway lines and bridleways

Already done 2 hour slow ride this morning. Now off for a 3 hour canal side ride. I’m super unfit atm so this is gonna kill me. Did 1.5 hours yesterday and still aching from that! I’ve got 2 stone of weight to shift after ‘injury’ stopped me running hence getting back on the bike. Wish me luck!!

We were out early after setting Abigale off to work, also delivery driver,
up on to Cutgate. Got back and a few miles walk with the dog. This afternoon I've got four bikes to clean, including one that was sneaked back in last night after a day in the woods.
Will probably get out for a second ride with the dog before settling down to Sunday dinner once everyone is back.

I managed a couple of decent rides last weekend. Sadly this weekend involved installing a sound system in a pub and then a workshop day. Part of the workshop day was bleeding a reverb which is easily my most hated workshop job 😫 But hey, I got to go to a pub - even if it was shut and I was the only person in it 🤷‍♂️

Took the Cosworth out for a hoon round Kielder. Hasn't been out of the garage in 6 months and performed beautifully.

Just can't seem to stay in bed these days so breakfast at 6:30 out the door at 7 walked just into Wales (no border police) and back for an attempted tidy in the workshop, got distracted and rebuilt 4 hubs and 2 sets of Hope M4 brakes.
Food shopping at 3pm, now knackered and its back to work tomorrow 🙁
I'm older than Ton, and his thread has spurred me on to look at retirement from my present work as its killing me!

@MrOvershoot you got Lord Rank's gilded staff pension scheme to fall back on? If you have then you're stuck until 55 before you can draw on it.

One of my best ever milling decisions was joining the RHM pension scheme. It's nearly as good as the original civil service one.

Well, in no small thanks to the OP, this thread gave me the kick up the arse needed to get off sofa and dust off my touring bike. Stuck a flask and a picnic in the caradice, plot a backroads/canal path/ Riverside path / dismantled railway 50km route and head out for the first proper cycle for 2 probably 2 years.

Sun was shining, birds singing and bike performed admirably - Legs less so. What a wonderful day out. Bikes are bloody brilliant, aren't they!

Oh for a decent bike ride! That sounds like a great start to the day @eddiebaby.

I'm now 9.5 hours into a 12 hour shift in the lab. I did ride my FS in today for a more comfortable commute than my SS. Plus it means I can do a little urban DH route on the way home if I feel inspired, and I can go easy on the uphill if tired.

But yes @scruff9252, they are bloody brilliant.

Bike ride before breakfast. Back home for scrambled egg and smoked salmon. Watched cycling on GCN, cooked curries. ate curries. Now drinking wine.

Planted a hedge yesterday. Got up this morning 7.30ish with big intentions to get out and ride early doors but boy was I stiff off the gardening. Finally dragged my self out for a 2hr circular ride at lunchtime, really glad I did. Back for bacon and egg butty’s then put some Chicken broth on for tea. My world seems to revolve around DIY and food at the moment.

Gardening today. God, I hate gardening. Really hate it. Chopped some bushes, cut some grass, pretended to be interested in wife’s plans for garden (which basically involve me doing lots of work) went to tip. I really resent giving up sunny days to do outdoor housework.

Did a lovely 4 hr road ride yesterday so today had to be given over to family/chores.

Slow start then 37km 800m MTB ride locally including a 45 mins walk thru the stinky bog of death. I had a 20mins shower when I got home☹️ I think my shoes will never be worn again. 🤮

It was good to get out though 😎

Glad to see a lot of other folks out there.
In the end I only did 30 miles but a lot of it was up on the Ridgeway and lots of chalky climbs on the SS hybrid with slick 28C tyres on it. Brilliant fun. And this morning I got to wash it.
