Been going through a bit of shite recently, but had a lovely ride with the lad last night - covered 4.6km in beautiful weather as the sun was coming down (Strava'd it - no KOMs...)
Topped it off with "I love cycling Daddy", which really made my day.
This is the stuff to cling on to...

Got the wee man his first runner bike at the weekend, his legs are still about 1/2" too short but he totally gets it and the cackles of glee as I pushed him around were magic, come on kiddo, keep growing!

Sorry you have had a bad time DrP but glad that you had a special evening. Is that the front near Worthing by any chance. Looks like a section from the Worthing 20miler that used to be/is a good warm up for London marathon.

My little one had her first carry on last weekend. She loved it until she fell asleep half way through which certainly helped me focus on my smoothness..

Good to see the lad enjoying pedaling 🙂
Maybe he'll win some 29er tubes at the next BBB like Lydon did 😉

Still got the memories..
He was really ill with asthma till his early teens.
We had a bmx race track nearby which he really enjoyed. We took him to his first race(aged 6)on a cold, frosty, Sunday morning and he came 2nd 😆
He then went on to join the ice hokey team followed by rowing/sculling before a knee injury at 16 stopped play... 🙄

I thought this was going to be an Emily Batty thread 🙁

Only joking! I can't wait till mine is old enough to come out. Only five months at the mo so should be ready for next season 🙂

"I don't want to go home now, daddy. I want to ride my bike really far."

This is what I'm hearing from my 4-year old daughter at the moment. 😀

Keepers, those pics.

My daughter's more into her scooter at the mo but I made sure "Daddy bike" were amongst her first words.

She yells it at every one we see when pushing/driving, especially at http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/olympics-cycling-sculpture-unveiled-dorking-4809986

Bikes are life, getting them rolling is one of the best things we can ever do for them.

This is one of my favourite pics, took the boys to the Isle of Man 2 years ago - their first trip where they carried some of their own gear (not a lot but it helped me!). This is my youngest who was 6 at the time wandering around eating a cereal bar.... Not actually deserting his bike

Nice.

Can't wait for my daughter to be big enough to ride on her own. She goes in the trailer now, but it's not the same.

Great pictures!

My two year old son had his first outing around the garden this weekend, he is just a touch too short in the leg but loved me pushing him around. Gratuitous bikes picture...

I took mine out on there's the other day but my 4yr old girl had broken her arm (dismounting a trampoline) and so that has put a stop to this summer's riding. 🙁

edit: great pictures everyone. I hope or kids share the same [s]obsession[/s] level of enjoyment in this hobby.

Li'l J. ,(1year old) is just about comfy on a pukylino.
Apparently I'm not supposed to want him to age any faster.......but can't wait to be able to do that.
