For showing me round some of the less salubrious parts of Leeds today. I did want to take photos of some parts but I didn't dare stop! 😕

Some right shiteholes!

Still good crack though. 😆

Yes, the bits that weren't in actual Leeds. 🙂

I love an innershitty ride.
Nothing beats some of the little alleyways, badly built jumps and dodgey trails on waistland and parks only used by druggys and drunks.
Adds a bit of spice to a ride that you don't get in a forest in the middle of nowhere.

Whereabouts did you go? I used to love the riding in Adel woods / Scotland Woods and around Alwoodley / Eccup when I lived in Headingley.

Dewsbury Road/Cross Flats?
Holy shit, why do people live like tramps in a house?

Me & Tony couldn't work out why someone would transport an armchair down a bridleway to set fire to it.
I mean I was brought up on a council estate in a pit village in County Durham, but this was all new to me! 😐

temple newsome, colton, swillington, little preston, st aidens, tpt, rothwell pit.

They were the good bits, speshly the Cornish pasty at Temple Newsome!

City riding reveals the quintessential nature we often blinker out.

Nothing wrong with seeing a bit of rough. Ever been down the NCN 1 through Sunderland ? Obvz Sunderland has some nice bits but the NCN takes you through some very sad areas for some reason.

That's pretty much my out of the door ride!

All city's are shitholes all round the world if you only go to certain parts. All city's have some good bits as well. Even Bradford!

[quote=bikebouy ]Ever been down the NCN 1 through Sunderland ? Obvz Sunderland has some nice bits but the NCN takes you through some very sad areas for some reason.I know this will come as a bit of a shock to many folk on STW but Sustrans isn't just about providing some nice gravel paths so that middle-class wannabes on their tax-free C2W gnarvesters can pretend they're having some awesome adventure, much of the work is funded by efforts to provide foot and cycleways through areas where the local population can't even actually afford a car.

No evidence but by the looks of things (& a certain knowledge inspired by 15 years of prison service work) I reckon a car is the last on some people's minds in the areas we went past today.
