Now the local trails are drying out, I've ditched the road bike in favour of the mountain bike for my commute. It's a bit of a slog in the morning but a much better way to end the day 🙂  Long live summer!

That looks fun.

The camera angle from the helmet visor looking backwards is disturbing.

How old is the OS on your work PC????

Next Thread; How much rear travel do I need for commuting?

Better than my A123, B456 route

Your port and starboard markers on the handlebars are the wrong way around

That’s the best commute I’ve ever seen. I want to work where you do!

Thanks, guys.  I was in two minds whether or not to share it.

Haha, sorry if you find that rear view shot disturbing.  I just thought it was a novel angle, although the camera was right in my eye line which made it quite difficult to see the trail.

Excellent stuff!

Must have taken you ages to hide all of those cameras along your route - and even longer to go back and download the footage 😉

Ha! Yeh, having more than one GoPro would have made things a little quicker and easier. But with trail conditions like that, I didn’t mind having to re-ride sections! It was actually quite useful just to session a few parts which have caught me out in the past.

That was a nice video, enough angles to keep it interesting.

I need to have my van at work with me, so I used to take my MTB in the van and then ride home offroad about 24 miles/2.5hrs, and then a fast hack back to work in the morning, 14 miles/1hr along the seafront/cliffs on the road bike.  This required a fair bit of organisation to make sure I had all the MTB stuff I needed before driving to work, and then switching to the road bike in the morning.

Gravel bikes change all that!  I can just throw it in the work van and do whatever I please with the same kit.  If its been a tough long day at work I can pootle back on the roads without lugging a 140mm full susser along with me, if I'm done early I can just turn the other way and hoon it offroad (it seems the only way to ride a gravel bike is flat out with a big grin).  In the morning I just use the same kit to ride back on the roads.

(no switching camelbacs/bottles/saddle bags, swapping lights over, different tools for different bikes etc etc etc)
