I bought a set of Ay-Ups close to 10 years ago, and have used them only intermittently, as I have not been a frequent night rider.
In any case, I took them out yesterday and charged them up, then set them up on my woodburner in order to test them by letting them run as long as they could.
I turned them on full (the only setting, actually), at 10:30 a.m., and finally turned them off at 4:30 p.m. as they were still going.
Not bad, I thought, for an almost 10-year-old couple of batteries, that have been poorly stored and used infrequently.
They'll be going on my CX now, so should have plenty of use this winter.
You do realise they will fail after 20 minute? Just as you're in the darkest part of Serial Killer Wood.
Similar story here. I assume this reflects the quality of the battery rather than just good fortune.
pretty impressive, though Li-ion batteries supposedly do hold charge very well (in fact, isn't it leaving them fully charged that's "bad")
