Anyone using 9point8 Fall Line?

I have read a few reviews that suggest it's a good post but a pain to install (probably get a shop to do that bit as I'm ham fisted...)

Maybe more common in N America than here but wondering if anyone has used one, if there were any issues or if they are a good alternative to the Reverb, Transfer etc?

Quite a few people on MTBR saying they lose pressure in the cold.

Had mine a year.
Not tried anything else.
Bought it because I wanted something quality and reliable, and all other options seemed to have issues widely reported. I started without even putting any air pressure in at all. After the winter I was having a sluggish return, so put some air in. It didn't help, so I bought the proprietary grease and re-greased the wiper seal. It works great again.
It's very well made, I like the lever although I hear there is an updated one too.
I did self install following video from website. It's very sensitive to cable length, so binned cable from first attempt. It's been fine for the past year though. It would get tedious if you have to remove your post often, but don't know if other droppers are any better in this regard.
Personally, can't think of a reason to dissuade you, but then I've not tried the competition.

I've had mine over a year (one of the first in the U.K.), although not put a huge amount of miles on it due to spending time on the road bike.

It took a couple of attempts to set up correctly. But the guys at 9point8 respond almost instantly when contact to for help via Facebook. I don't imagine a shop will have much more success if they haven't done one before. Don't let this put you off though. If you can recable a rear derralieur then you will manage this.

I haven't experienced any problems with mine. The mechanism needs resetting if the bike experiences a big change in temperature (just push the lever in for 10 seconds). I only recall doing this twice though. I squirted the stanchion with GT85 on occasion, and that's all.

I bought it because the principle of operation seems a little more robust than relying on a high pressure system that needs air tight seals on a noodle'y seat post. Just a few psi and a simple seal is in my opinion much better. The brake does the trick in stopping it moving.
