Am happily running 2x9 at the moment, but it's getting time to change the chain and cassettes roughly £60,
Is it about the right time to consider 10 speed?
Annoyingly everything on the bike is less than a year old (I regret not going 10 at the time) so nothing else is close to wearing out
Currently have XT shifters, mechs and cassette and slx double with bash
Am considering 1x10, Zee shifter and mech, raceface narrow wide chainring XT cassette and chain, £170ish
Do the slx doubles work ok as singles or am I going to struggle to get a nice chain line?
Is 32t front 11-36 rear what most people still tend to go for?
Should I save my money, stick to 9 and look at finally going tubeless?

To be honest as long as you can still buy a light 9sp cassette I wouldn't bother changing.

I am trying really hard not to start stockpiling 9spd bits when they are cheap. How long do people think before we are down to Acera level stuff?

The other appeal of 10 speed is the clutch mechs
