Looking to replace some knackered alivio shifters with something new.

Currently looking at getting either some deore or sunrace M9 shifters:

Deore:

Sunrace:
https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/sunrace-m9-2-3-speed-trigger-shifter-left-624814

I'm running 2x - Does anyone know if the deore shifters can be converted to 2 speed at the front? and what are sunrace shifters like? I'm guessing they will be compatible with a 9 speed shimano rear derailler? what about sram shifters, would they work?

Lots of questions sorry, any help appreciated 🙂

Cheers
Andy

Yep you just set limit screws on the mech to cover the two rings, 'top' position on the shifter is still indexed to the larger ring, the 'Middle' click is aligned to the small ring position and the bottom click effectively just pays out un-used slack...

That's what we all did for a couple of decades before dedicated "2x" shifters were a thing you could buy.

No idea about Sunrace shifters...

SRAM will have different cable pull unless you can track down some of their older 2:1 jobbies...

Your Shimano bits should all work fine together.

I buy my 9 speed bits secondhand mostly on Pinkbike. It's practically given away now 🙂
