Found a load of old 9 speed chainrings in the shed and need to convert my 1x10 commuter to 2x10 for a road thing. Will that be ok or is it certain death/poor shifting?

I found 9 worked fine with 10 rear, however 10 speed chain rings with 11 rear didn't as the offset was out. I had to space it out to work
