Hi

So I've bought a frame that's arrived 89mm bb should be for a pressfit but it's threaded ,gone through PayPal as item not as described and got a refund but I'm not sure what to do with the frame ???
If I can keep it what do I do with it ?
Any help or ideas would be great
Cheers

I'd be curious to know what size of thread is in there as a BB92/PF41 BB shell is bigger diameter than a regular BSA threaded one.

It was purchased from Taiwan so posting it back would be expensive and if Corsair want it back they can pay the postage ,the thread is normal as I've screwed in a Shimano hollowtech bb

I don't think 89 threaded is supposed to exist, 68,73,83,100mm is all I know of.

What's the I'd similar to? Do you know someone with a lathe that could turn a sleeve for you? Run some.smaller press fit bearingsbut with same BB axel I'd?

I don't know anyone like that ,I was wondering if a 83mm bb with spacers would fit but not sure I'd have enough spindle on the crank to attach the non driveside crank arm

Would facing off 3mm either side be an option, checking chainring and crankarm chainstay clearance issues first.

That could be possible if I could get an engineering firm round Nottingham to do that

What material and are the threads deep enough if you get it cut down?

Probably easiest option is if you can hacksaw off a sliver each side and get a bike shop to do a final face up / tidy up the thread. They won't want to trash a facing tool removing loads of material (especially if Ti or steel). 3mm a side with a facing tool in aluminium wouldn't be unreasonable (but I know nothing about 83mm threaded bbs and cranks to suit).

It's a steel frame zona Columbus I think

Bb won't be Zona - probably some kind of cromo at best so not too tough but shops with facing tools probably not keen on chunking off that much but would happily skim it square.

I'd help out but not nearby unfortunately. Any local framebuilders?

As you said, a machine shop could do it. If you can screw some old bb cups in below the surface, get it milled off and then unscrew the cups it will tidy up the threads on the way out.

Could I get a Dremel and smooth out the threads so a bb92 would fit ?

A saint 83mm bottom bracket uses spacers like a 68mm bb, couldn't you use with just one 2mm DS spacer, then its only 0.5mm too long on NDS.
