I have an 8 year old Fox Talas RL fork (32mm stanchions with 90 -130mm travel adjust).
I want to replace it with something a bit more sensitive to small bumps, 120 or 130mm (fixed travel is fine) but I'm out of touch with whats good and bad in the fork world.
Needs to be QR as I have 2 wheel sets I don't/can't change. Can be 1 1/8th or tapered steerer. It's going on a hardtail if that makes any difference.
Suggestions please, budget not yet decided.
Anyone have any recommendations at all?
The fox float 140rlc would be a good option. Perhaps not the best in small bump sensitivity but up there.
Not the cheapest either, but email me and I can offer you a good price 🙂
You can step the travel down in the float by 10mm increments, which I could do for you 🙂
Have you swapped the seals out to the new SKF ones? That removed a lot of the initial stiction from my TALAS. Might be worth a shout before spanging loads of money on new forks.
I'm just about to get them serviced as it's been 2 years since they were done, as they are 8 years old I don't want to throw money at them if they need more than a standard service.
