I'm fitting a 35mm stem and 51mm offset 150mm Pike. Currently have 750mm bars. Bike will be around 66.5/67 deg head angle and is long with short chainstays and lowish BB. Will the 750s keep the steering responsive or would a wider bar have a better effect?
Bigger = better
Well certainly on my 29er I found 780 bars gave me more control
780 bars with 35mm stem is pretty much perfect for me. Have came from 750/50mm and noticed that steering speed was about the same with extra stability from wider bars. Bike is enduro 29er.
780mm bars / 150mm Pike / 66deg head angle.
Prefer 780mm to 760mm I was running on shorter travel 29er.
If I could get them around trees I would have 780 but 760 is really the largest I can go and I still clip trees regularly. One gap on a regular ride of mine is pretty much exactly 800.
