As title really. I'm looking to put me slicked up cyclocross wheels in my 29er.

Would this be ok? The wheel sizes are essentially the same right?

Could i even put my slick tyres from my cyclocross on my 29er rims?

They're identical so they'll be fine.

Whether slicks work on your 29er wheels is down to their size and the width of your rim.

Are the rear hubs the same width?

A fair point. I'm assuming both disc and 135mm

Same bead size on 29er and 700c so you may well get away with your CX tyres on the 29er rims...just depends how narrow they are...

Good question. Need to check, both are geared - if that helps?

Wheel sizes are not the same, rim sizes are but that means nothing when you change from fat 29 tyres to skinny road/cx ones. Of course as they are smaller they wont hit anything in the frame so will fit fine, depending on the frame you might find the BB too low but it will be rideable most likely. You can also fit 26" wheels in 29ers, similar outcome as they tend to be similar outer diameter to road/cx wheels.

Skinny road tyres on 29er rims? depends on tyre and rim, tyre should be same width or wider than rim outer width, just to be on safe side.
