going up to the stanes in may for the first time, anyone any advice on which is best/visit first/last etc and pointers for B&B that is bike friendly and close to most/best of the trails.

How long are you going for? If it's just a weekend I'd suggest Glentress and Innerleithen. We always stay at the Tontine Hotel in Peebles when we're down.

good point should have said, we are driving up from darn sarf, stop off in around the lakes for a day or two then spend 4 days around the stanes before heading back down? is there a weeks worth up there if we miss out stop off?
