We're on our way up on Friday for usual family MTB week in Dumfries & Galloway - staying in Gatehouse of Fleet in our usual rental.
I read recently that there are some issues with some of the trail centres; we usually do Kirroughtree, Glentrool, Ae, Mabie, Dalbeattie, occasionally Drumanrig -
Any intel on trails and whether cafes and bike shops are all open? Ta
Mabie all open, and new cafe has now opened, no idea about opening hours. Ae almost fully open, 1 trail, Rabs, uphill on the red is still shut and will be for a long time. Cafe at Ae shut on Wednesdays, open till 9pm on Tuesday.
Dalbeattie, dont bother, too many trees down. Kirroughtree mostly open.
All Drumlanrig biking trails were closed when we stayed there last month. Good cafe though
Sure I read before drumlanrig has closed for good and the trails will disappear back to nature. On the plus side you could probably go for a weekend away in Europe for the price of entry that you’ll save!

Yeah, Rik's Bike Shed is gone. Spoke to him on closing day and he wasn't optimistic about the there being any sort of future for the trail network.
Kirroughtree all open - was there last week and did Red and Black no issues. Locals have cleared some of the off piste as well so running again, the shop can point you at those.
Drumlanrig gone? Thats a massive loss. Had heard the new duke was not the best…
