Friend of mine is looking for a full suspension xxl bike as he is 6ft 6...
Went to the Specialized concept store to day & they only go up to XL which apparently is for 6ft 3...

Santa Cruz do a XXL but I believe only in carbon.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an enduro full suspension bike please.

I'm 6ft 3in and I'm normally between the biggest and second biggest size in most bike brands, if the Specialized Enduro only fits people up to 6ft 3in I'd be very surprised. They might be quite short though, they're not known for their overly long bikes.

There's lots of bikes out there with 500+mm reach and not too slack seat angles (with the seat height he'll need, anything with a slack seat angle will mean it'll be over the rear hub).

YT Capra
Nukeproof Mega
Pole Evolink
Cotic Rocket
and so on...

My mate had the same problem - his Commencal XL was too short in the reach.

We narrowed his options down to the following:

Geometron
Pole
Nukeproof Mega
Mondraker Foxy
Commencal Clash

In the end he went for the Clash - 500mm reach, so not too long to not be playful on the jumps, etc and with a great spec for the money. Also comes with a very adjustable coil in the top spec, which he needs due to his weight (air shocks struggle when you're over 105 kgs) Just a shame that Commencal managed to lose his Signature spec XL after he'd paid for it and had no others in stock. They've now managed to build up a bike for him from the A La Carte option, but it's delayed things by several weeks.

I’m 6”4 on an xl geometron g13

They did an xxl g13, which would fit I’m sure they could do a custom g1 if they aren’t doing an off the shelf xxl

Pretty sure Transition do an xxl alloy Sentinal. I have been looking at replacements for my xl smuggler, i am 6ft4 and have been looking at longer travel bikes, narrowed it down to either a xl Rocketmax or a xxl Last Glen.

Trek do a 23" in some models, often a good thing to try. Obviously it depends on your friends shape a bit.

I’m 6’7” and ride an XL Canondale Trigger, just because the spec sheet says it’s not for someone over 6’3” doesn’t mean it will not fit.

XL Bird Aeris 145 and AM9 have an ETT of 680 and reach of 528/522 respectively.

Canondale is my go to maker. I also have a Whyte that fits me. Orbea is worth considering too.

"Specialized ... XL which apparently is for 6ft 3"

Take that with a pinch of salt. I'm taller than 6'3 on a L.

I am 1.97m tall (6' 7" in old money) and ride an XL Stumpy FSR. I found the stock stem to be a bit long and so swapped it out for a 60mm one. Makes a difference to how I sit and steer, but for the better.

As he is shorter than me, I would say to try one and see what he thinks.

Per IDG’s suggestion above, I’d check out Bird as a cheaper alternative to the usual long bikes suggested (Pole / Geometron).

I’m on an ML size Aeris 145LT and the reach is 481mm. They have 2 sizes above this and they must be some of the longest bikes going.

You can also test ride bikes and speak to the founders of the business about sizing and spec.

My fella is 6ft5 and is on an XL Bird Aeris AM9 and its comfortably the right size if not a smidgen large but then he was on a tiny specialized frame before that so he's accustomed to riding a BMX!

If you're asking for a friend and he's not that clued-up then he's probably not looking to spend Geometron or Pole money (correct me if wrong tho).

There are a fair few more affordable brands doing real long reach frames now, as mentioned above.

I'd just say don't get hung up on XL vs XXL designations - look at the actual "reach" numbers on the geometry charts and flag up anything north of 500mm.

My tip if he's after a trail bike - new YT Jeffsy.
