Can I just whack a 29er fork on the front of a normal frame to create a 69er ride? Keen to give this big wheel lark a shot...

cheers 🙂

The front wheel could end up very close to your frame and feet! do it properly and try a 29er front and back, the smaller wheel at the back will not give you the full benefit

Don't know about doing it with a suss fork, but I have a 29 wheel running on a carbon 26 fork on a 26 inbred frame and it is the dogs danglies. Much better than with a 26 wheel.

I'm running the same set-up as Big Pete here and love it. No toe overlap problems or chopper steering problems. It rolls really well over roots etc.

if the frames adjusted to a 100mm fork, i wouldnt think it would be an issue putting a rigid fork and a 29" wheel on....

be aware of toe overlap too....

use a 26 fork not a 29, like the prevoius two posters.

hmmm... so maybe I should stick with my original plan of going rigid, using my current 26" on-one fork...

I was thinking of using the White Brothers fork Ton has for sale in the classifieds... general consensus is it won't be a good result?

To confirm.

Sticking a 29er wheel and 29er fork (rig/sus) on a 26er - bad.
Sticking a 29er wheel and 26er rid on a 26er - good.

Well - according to my soul anyway
