looking at options to get into the 27.5+ market through cycle 2 work, so kinda limited to £1k.

Choices I've seen so far are the pinnacle plus, genesis Tarn, or if I manage to stick in a bit of cash, the Trek Stache.

anything else I should consider on my list?

I've not seen or ridden any of the bikes listed so just spec and other peoples reviews

More seriously: Charge Cooker range are B+, and the Pinncale Ramin 3 Plus seems good value

yeah, I think with a few upgrades that could be a great bike.

TBH, carrera frames are actually damn good. It's just the components they stick on them that are pants.

Orbea Loki is now available down to 1k, I have been riding our demo and it's amazing, really dialled geometry
