Does anyone have any recommendations for 650b tyres mainly for use on tarmac lanes, forest fire roads, and gravel cycle paths?

Looking for something lightweight and fast rolling, but there is such a confusing amount of choice out there! Not sure if the tyres have to be suitable for the specific wheels that are on my bike (Trek Superfly hardtail)?

Any suggestions / advice much appreciated.

Another vote for the Panaracer Gravelking. I don't use the SK variant though. The standard one is effectively a fat road tyre with a file pattern on the sides, the SK has a little tiny block tread, so will be a little slower on tarmac, but better on the gravel.

Thunder Burt's and Gravelking SK's both good options I reckon.

Maxis Pace or Aspen are similar to the Burt's, but both a little heavier and more durable. WTB Horizon or Byways are similar weight and size to the Gravelking's, but slicker so a bit faster rolling.

Those are all in the region of 500-600g weight, and roughly 2.0" wide.

A slightly faster option (weight closer to 400-450g) would be a narrower gravel/road plus tyre, say the (slick) Schwalbe G-One in 40mm or 42mm Gravelking (not the SK), or the (slightly nobbley) WTB Resolute in 42mm

The Gravelking slicks have my vote for speed and (embarrassingly) looks. But with mud or spiky rocks around you'd be limited off road with them

It’s all going to hinge on the speed you want on roads in conjunction with the grip you require off road based on where you ride personally. I’ve run Panaracer Gravelkings and then WTB Byway tyres both great capable tyres , the byways being faster and more plush at 47mm. But I wanted a bit more side grip and found these to be not only faster tarmac/pavement/towpaths etc but also gripper on loose gravel, Soma Cazadero made by Panaracer

I'm currently liking my Bruce Gordon Rock'n'Road tyres. Fast enough on the road, grippy enough off road. And can be bought either black or tan wall (depending on aesthetic preference).

Grand Bois Hetre or Lier depending on what size you need, 42mm or 37 respectively.

Acycles.Fr usually have them in stock.

I've got a pair of the larger ones on the tandem and they've survived a beating there, yet are fast & light. Ish...
