Recently bought a Bad Boy, and am looking for a higher volume 650b tubeless tyre to
replace the WTB Byways it comes with. Can anyone recommend a 40mm and bigger tyre for mostly on road duties with a touch of SDW riding too?
Panaracer Gravelking for me
Are the Gravel Kings not meant to be a bit puncture prone? Not too rumbly on the road?
There are gravelking and gravelking sk. The sk has small knobs.
On my bike i use 650b hiway 47 tubeless and also vittoria terreno dry in a 47. Super comfy in the dreadful roads here. And work offroad in the quarry and tracks
Been using G-Ones for years...
It sounds as though you are looking for something that is better (i.e. faster) than a Byway on the road. Most of the suggestions seem to be for “gravel” tyres, which may be better off-road than the Byways but I’m not sure they’d be faster on it. I’ve not ridden them though, so it’s possible, but the Byway is basically a road plus tyre.
Personally I’d be looking at the Rene Herse tyres. Maybe the Babyshoe pass, but again I’ve not ridden it.
Maxxis Refuse
Actually, maybe Gravelking (not SP) in 1.75” would work
Actually i use the Vittoria Terreno zero...virtually slick with some small shoulder sipes.
Specialized saw tooth do the job for me.

Do you enjoy sucking the fun out of cycling?
Hah, I laughed at the Refuse...
