After wanting a new frame to replace my Remedy, after riding my old hardtail, i have decided that i want to get a new 650b hard tail frame to run through the winter using the part of my remedy.
I have had a look online and have come across a few frame so is after a bit of advice of anybody who has ridden on or other frames that might be worth looking at.
I am running 140mm travel and 142mm rear drop outs but could get a new set of wheels if needed.
The frames i have looked at
Bird zero
Santa cruz chameleon
Stanton Slackline
Pipedream Muchuu ?
Currently swaying to the Bird for price and has 142mm rear dropouts
45650b from on one seems good value??
I like my Bird, a lot, and so far they have been excellent to deal with.
There are some new 650b Transition TransAms on eBay at the mo reduced to £350.
Sorry, they're on for £375. Tempted myself even though I've got throng sized wheels and fork.
PP Shan27....if u can wait a little while until release.
2015 Commencal Meta HT looks awesome.
Something about this that I think I like.
Stanton Slackline
You mean the Switchback if you want 650b
My mate has a NS Eccentric. It's very nice.
Stanton Switchback or Trans Am 650b which I am selling on eBay
I'd recommend the Dartmoor Hornet. But that's because I have one and it's awesome. Also, mega bargain if you're getting it frame only. Really a great ride.
Nukeproof Scout is longer and slacker....and prettier 😛
Just had my new Nukeproof Scout out for the first time. I've put a 140mm fork on it, and the whole thing works great. Fairly light, stiff, seems burly and well made, and having short legs I love the massive stand-over clearance.
pics? not got mine built yet.
Hadn't heard of thatBird Zero, now convinced i need one!
Cove hummer 650b? Ti frame designed round a 140 fork
Selling a brand new one for £950
MM
I built up what is now last years Chameleon and after one short ride discovered an issue that resulted in a replacement frame being required. I was slightly annoyed that I have loads of quality 26 inch stuff I need to to sell that i'll lose a fortune on, but that faded when I saw the new frame. Reverb stealth compatible and changeable dropouts if you ever want to go SS are plus points.
Oh that's nice! Same color as my frame, so looking forward to building it.
Having been looking at the 29er version in another thread, I nominate the Kona Ti Explosif. Looks lovely.
