Hey there. I've just crossed over to the evil world of 650b and I've found that my favourite tyres for dealing with Scottish winters; Bontrager Team Mud; aren't available in 650b.

Booo!

Does anyone have any alternative like minded tyres that they know of?

Cheers.

Or Maxxis do the Beaver in 650b too. Just make sure you get an EXO sidewall version.

The Maxxis Beaver looks close. I'm worried about the side walls though. Tubeless with roots, mud and flinty rock round here. Mebbes no.

I use both. Happy with both. Don't think one's more fragile than the other (as long as you go EXO). The 29 version has a really good 2.25 option. - good for rocks and roots.
They're made in the same factory, so quality is similar, though prefer the edge of the Bonty, but the volume and compound of the Maxxis..

Schwalbe Magic Mary or Maxxis Shorty on the front,

Maxxis Beaver, WTB Vigilante, Schwalbe Hans Dampf on the rear..

Im running a magic mary on the front and it is great on wet rock/roots and muddy conditions

Shorty looks really good. Wish they did a 29er version.

No 27.5 beaver with the thick side walls, so that's not an option. Hans Dampf on the rear? Tell me more.

Hi, I have similar problem. Used the Bonty mud x but now on 650b tyres I'm struggling to find something similar. The options in this thread are a bit heavy. It's flat here.

I've found this michelin wild mud advance. Has anyone used them?

I hope they're better than every other michelin tyre I've ever tried. Literally the only brand I avoid like the plague.

I bought a bike once that came with Michelin "mud" tyres that actually weren't completely terrible in some conditions but were especially and particularly useless in mud.

I have some Michelin Mud Advance, I gave up fitting them on Crests! However they fit fine on Crossmax. My guess is they're designed to work with UST rims rather than tubeless ready rims. The Crossmax rim has a much deeper centre well and consequently it was much easier to get the beads in place. I can't see UST written the sidewall though.
