Probably a bit late to ask.

I've just built my new bike up (Kona Sutra LTD), for the first time ever I 'sized up' instead of down and went for XL.

Haven't made minor fit adjustments yet, but I just can't get used to

• seatpost not being at max extension
• bars and seat being at about the same height

… have I done bad?

Feels comfy enough, I must admit. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

Just made me wonder what size frame other lanky gits got?

I'm 6 foot 4 and I'm always XL

Maybe I have long legs and or poor knees but I'd still have the saddle above bars.....

I'm 6' 5" and I find most XL bikes a little on the small side usually have to go for XXL. I would say you probably have now got the right size.

Similar size to you and thats about how I'd have it - bar angle woud do my sweed though - I have to have my tops to hoods transition dead flat. If its comfy don't worry

Thanks folks.

Yeah, still working out the details, including bar angle. First pair of drop bars I've ridden since 1989, forgotten how they go (although they feel flatter in real life than they look there, for some reason).

Lots of spacers to move out if the bars are too high. So looks good to me

Have you bought this bike because STW told you to? What on earth have you been riding on gravel in the mean time? 😉

I'm 6'4" too and my road bikes are XXL although I think I'm right on the borderline and would be fine on an XL too.

Apart from the bar angle, yours looks good to me.
