I've currently got an Airdop Edit v1 with a 125mm reverb. I've been finding on really steep stuff I'd like more drop so I've been dropping the post in the frame, kind of defeating the purpose. So I've been looking at my options, these are my criteria:

- ~170mm drop
- 30.9 mm seat diameter
- externally routed
- as a bonus I'd like something that is straightforward to service

The main contender seems to be the PNW cascade, can anyone comment on the function/reliability of this post? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Not really keen to drill the frame for IR.

I have a 170mm vecnum, it's been very good for the 18 months I've had it.
I've serviced it once when it started to get a little slow on return, very straight forward and brought it right back to life.
The remote it excellent but needs the tiny grubscrew changed for an Allen key screw, happens to be the same size as a Kona wahwah pedal pin which I had a supply of in the tool box.

I have a V1 Edit which was drilled by the previous owner for a dropper. I bought a One Up which needed the outer to move so I made the hole into a slot. I've ridden it all summer without issue.

The seat tube is the same on V1 and 2 apart from the hole.

Admittedly I only paid £400 for my frame second hand with a nice shock so if it dies it dies.

I'm 5'8" on a small and despite buying a 170mm I still have enough post showing to go longer but I think 170 is enough. Love the confidence the longer drop gives.

I went for the wolftooth LA remote but I've bought a ZTTO for my other bike
