Looking for a cheapish (£15 max) 5 speed freewheel with a 12/13T smallest cog to go on my folding bike to get a higher top gear as at the moment spin out on the 14t cog. Chainring isn't easy or cheap to change as is a stuck 1 piece crank that'd gonna need to be ground/cut off to change. Spacing is too narrow to get anything more than a 5s freewheel in (maybe a 6s if narrow spacing).

Found a few 7/8s with 12/13t but way too wide to fit.

Any ideas?

I assume this is screw on?

Pricey but comes in your desired size

Tenner, but you only get a 14t small sprocket

Yeah, I've got the cheaper one already (or something very similar) and the 14T is just a little too spinny for 3 miles of canal tow path.

That expensive one - that's 2x what I paid for the bike!

Out of interest what is the hub spacing?

If it's ~120mm or wider you should be able to track down an older HG type cassette hub, if you don't mind building a wheel it should open up some cassette options...

The spacing is ~112mm and the 5s cassette fits but requires a little bit of levering (also got a 3mm spacer on the axle) - its a steel rear triangle so slightly spreadable, but it's 16inch wheels so very short stays to bend to 120mm.

Was thinking of getting a road hub ~130mm and seeing if I can swap the freehub for a ss/short one but that cheapest option for that is ~£120 so over 4x what I paid for this bike - I really only want to spend £15 max on this project as know the bike is likely to be stolen sooner or later as have to leave it locked outside an aldi overnight 2 nights a week! (been threatened with a £60 fine if bringing bike inside again)

Done the maths as really want to find a 12-21 or more but in no rush so gonna keep an eye on ebay
