still got the original shock, an RP23

what could I get & how much of a difference do you think I would get/notice ?

edit: I am more of an XC rider if that makes a difference.

Also what size would I want ?

You'll need a 190 x 51mm shock, Medium tune.

I have changed to a Monarch Plus, but the 2014 Monarch RT3 is a better bet for XC riding.

You'll need to add shock mounts, 8 x 22mm.

What's wrong with the RP23 ? I had previously improved mine by adding a spacer and getting it serviced.

Same set up as mine, a service and custom tune by Loco made an incredible difference to how well it worked for me (unfortunately, I didn't mention the custom tune when I had Mojo replace a worn shaft, and the technician did me a favour and returned it to standard. Lesson learned).

I ride a 216x63 RP23 on my Patriot. Better than Rockshox IMO

The fives air shock is supposed to be abit 'sagged'?

Get it stiffened up with a big compression spacer (you can do yourself) and a air sleeve service (easy for you to do too.

Keep it....and buy a ti' springed coilshock too? 🙂

If it's the high volume air can get it swapped for the low volume. Much better support and ramp up.

Have you thought of getting a plush soft closing shock for the top drawer?

Hmmm, they're slacking, it's taken 5hrs to get a filing cabinet joke on an Orange 5 thread. Either that or they've been busy oiling the hinges on their four bar gates(how long before that gets as tedious as filing cabinet references 🙂
