Hello
My son is 3 years old, 25 kilo and tall!
So looking for a bike for a big boy... probably 16" wheels...
found this one on a danish site.... alu frame, weight 7.2 kilo, price 220 euro..
anything better out there, on that budget... could stretch it a bit...
Thanx !
Frog are bloody good and totally bomb proof, we've had all of them from the tadpole to the 24" wheeled drop bar bike.
Early rider belter 16". Nice and light well built. We have one we used for little one. Which reminds me I need to get it advertised.
My kids who were 6 and 4 had the vitus 16 and 14 respectively. They seemed to be comparable quality to islabike and frog but cheaper. Lightweight, easy to use brakes etc.
Both kids really got on well with them. The 6 year old is now 8 and is on a 20 inch, soon to be going to 24 tho I think (currently a wild bike from go outdoors which also seems quite decent for the money).
I have noticed tho that the vitus bikes have almost doubled in price from what I paid two and a bit years ago.
If he's big i'd consider a 20" to be honest and look at a Trek Superfly.
My boys were both on 20 inch before they were 6. 7 year old is on a 24" now.
As above.... a tall 5 Yr old would likely need a 20" wheel. VFM wise I'd say Frog, Pinnacle, Hoy and Giant are brilliant. Or a spendy, light option would be Early Rider. At that age I bought the ER Urban Belter for my daughter, but changed the mini V-brakes to full size and put Bontrager MTB tyres on it. I was amazed at how light and easy to handle it was.
In the spirit of recommending what you've got, #1daughter just grew out of her Cannondale Cujo 20. She rode it from 4th to 6th birthdays and has gone 24" now.
It's one of these. I'll need to pull it out of the back of the garage so let me know if you are interested.

So, is he 3 or 5?
Forme Cubley is good and about that price. 14,16 and 18" options.
My 5 year old is 110 cm and comfortably on a 16"
