heading to the Peaks this morning, for 5 days riding and socialising with the older section of the sweary northerners.
staying in Edale, Castleton, Millers Dale and Hartington.
got a rough plan ride wise, but always open to changing it for some good ride advice from people in the know.
so anything we should not miss ride wise in the area ?   cheers.
Edale - surely got to be the Rushup/Roych/Jacobs Ladder loop?
Â
Hartington/Miller's Dale - don't know much MTB round there, but you are close to the old railway trails if you fancy a 50 mile+ gravel loop - Tissington/HPT/Monsal linked up via Matlock/Matlock Bath. Lunch in Bakewell?
Â
Castelton I'd be heading over to do a Ladybower loop of which they're are many, maybe a bit of Win Hill. Or a Cavedale loop?
Â
Eastern Moors over towards Sheffield has some great riding too which is not inaccessible from Castleton
Â
Some nice stuff around Bakewell/Chatsworth too, but a lot of it cheeky
Â
No doubt some nobber will be along shortly to tell you it's the Peak, but you're welcome to call it/them the Peaks for me
Eastern edges is on my doorstep and does indeed have some nice riding. Devils Elbow, Piper House, some cheeky riding down Burbage or across from Houndkirk, White Edge (also cheeky) and obviously Froggatt/Curbar edges (which are now legit).
Lots of ways to join them up depending on how far you want to ride. And plenty of opportunities for tea, cake or beer too.Â
