Hi,

Trying to gear-ize my single speed bike and realized that got little obsolete crankset with BCD 110, 5 bolts pattern.

Got 34T chainring at the moement but wanted to instal NW variation. Found some but the smallest one seems to be 36T.

Is that the smallest possible option - BCD 110 can go down to 33T on off-set standard chainring - for oval, or it is just me looking for very, very niche-obsolete standard?

Cheers!
I.

Try superstar components, they have round or oval. Have 2 on cross bikes, work well

Often a discount available

Wolf Tooth, Raceface, Hope, Blackspire, Absolute Black all do round 110-5 narrow wide.

But for oval then minumum teeth are: Wolf Tooth (38), Rotor (38), AB (38), SS (36)

You just can't fit a 34 oval in a 110-5 shape. Something has to give.

Thanks reggiegasket!

Indeed not a cheap option but as far as I know Garbaruk it is worth having a go.

Cheers!

110 BCD 5 bolt is not obsolete, it is the standard road compact size used by Shimano, Campagnolo, SRAM and others. I have used 110 for many years and have quite a few chainrings but none of them are NW. Not sure why you are using NW on single speed as there is no benefit to it and it is limiting your choices.

Not using yet. Want to use because:

Trying to gear-ize my single speed bike

As mentioned in first post.

I know that BCD110 is standard road compact drive pattern, but it is obsolete MTB pattern from the era of FC-M730.

Not looking for roadie rings, as thy are no use for me.

Cheers!

I’ve got a red 34t superstar nw 110 chainring in the shed. Let me know if you get stuck. Also got a 33t stainless ring.

Cancel the 33t. Went to the shed to check and it’s a 104bcd.

Sorry, forgot to mention that prefer oval instead of round.

There are few round 34T options available.

Currently Garbaruk is top of the list anyways.

Cheers!
