I have just taken delivery of one of these
carbon 456

If you click on the link you will see that where the dropouts attach there are no holes.

On the all of the other images I can see, the dropout bolts go through the frame.

There are what appear to be threaded inserts on the inside where the dropouts fix, but I dont have the correct bolts to attach the dropouts.

Have I been sent the wrong fixing bolts, or does it need drilling out or something?

Thanks

I think this has come up before, they changed how they fitted them i think and obviously, as always, the on-one website is utter useless. Email them and they will prob send you the right bolts, if you get someone who knows anything that is...

Cheers STATO,

though that means I now have to wait until Monday for a response and I was really looking forward to a bit of 'quiet time in the garage' playing with spanners and stuff...

oh well, the steel one gets another ride 😛

If anyone knows what size the new style bolts are, and where I may be able to obtain some on a Saturday, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Aye, there's 2 variants, and On One seem to consistently send out the bolts for the version you don't have. If you have the non-through-hole version they aren't chainring bolts, they're a pretty specific-seeming unit. Might be they're standard for something else but I've never seen another like it.

Its the long chainring style ones that I have.....

From what I can tell, its a similar style of bolt/nut combo, just bigger and with the nut already bonded in.

Hope you get better service than me.
When sorted it's a cracking bike, even if it does call you a wuss when you get to the rough stuff.
Oh yes ,it talks to you, well abuse you.

I had this problem. They sorted me out reasonably quickly and Brant agreed to execute those responsible for the error - his suggestion.

The type for your frame are special machined bolts, presumably that's why they changed the design to standard chainring type on later frames. I know this as I went through the same when I bought my c456 (no bolts but also no dropouts, when I did get the correct bolts one of the Allen 'sockets' was misshaped so you couldn't get an Allen key in!). Onone being onone either you'll be sorted by Tuesday, or youre in for a long drawn out battle! You'll get there in the end though!

From what I have read onone tend be either crap or brilliant with no middle ground, then again you don't normally go shouting about average service you receive...

Hopefully I'll get the latter and be sorted by Tuesday.

Cheers!

Nothing changes then, same thing happened when I got one last September. They're forgiven though as it such a laugh to ride
