Looking to go 2x10 with my existing crankset and looking for a little advice.

40T or 38T ring to go with 24T and 36-11 cassette?

How difficult is it to set this up with the existing shifters and deraileurs?

I'd go 40 if your ever doing roads etc to get to the trails.

Should have no issues setting it up, just adjust your front mech limits?

The limit screw is all you need to do something about. I did exactly what you are doing but with an SLX crank set.

I managed it and im a complete bike ludlite 🙂

I had 3 x 10 XT, bought a 2 X 10 chainset, and just adjusted the limit screw so it didnt try to shift too far. Works a treat 🙂

I have a deore crankset, loped off the outside chain ring, swapped the middle one out for a bigger one (36 tooth) and wound in the limiter. No problems.

Check for frame clearance around any pivots & Chain Stays. Previous threads showed a limit on Orange. There is one on Hecklers too.

Have done this - just took the granny ring off and wound in the lower limit screw.

I think the chainline could be optimised a bit but not got round to fiddling with that yet.
