For reasons of personal injury to my posterior as a result of an infection post bowel cancer surgery, I still can’t sit on a bicycle saddle some 15 weeks since surgery sadly…
I am reevaluating my options to help me get back on a bike.
One thing that has struck me is that these 3D printed saddles seem to get rave reviews for comfort, albeit at significant expense. Fortunately, I know I get on reasonable well with Specialized Romin/Phenom shaped saddles anyway, but don’t want to throw several hundred quid at a saddle if it’s not going to make much of a difference… But if it transforms the comfort and helps me get back out riding again, then it would be money well spent!
Anybody got any personal experience of them to benefit me with please…
Get one from Specialized using their 30day trial offer. I also like the Phenom and I tried one of their Power with Mirror saddles and it was OK but not as nice as the Phenom. If they ever do a Phenom Mirror I would be tempted though....

Thanks, but within 30 days I don't imagine I'll be much further on the road to recovery than I am now... Hence asking the question... Either it's worth dropping the money on a saddle that is really going to help me with my long term recovery, or it isn't.

From experience, the Romin and the Phenom are very similar shapes, the Phenom being a little more trimmed at the rear to suit mounting and dismounting on a mountain bike where the Romin was more overtly a road saddle... If you get on with the Phenom, you'll get on with a Romin I'd suggest. I just need to know whether it's worth forking out for a Mirror saddle over and above a conventional Romin myself...

Look up Poseda Joyseat. Unlike the mainstream offerings they properly harness the benefits of 3d printing by making each one based on the users particular butt imprint.
I used a Phenom for years (preferred the model before last) but have moved to the Power S Works for MTB use and Power Mirror for road. They are both spot on. I even have a Power Expert on the turbo bike, I completed the Rapha Festive 500 the other year (indoors) with this setup. Shape is very similar in use to the Phenom, but having a shorter nose, in my opinion, makes them way better. The Mirror version is more plush to ride that the others.
Cheers for the input so far. Good to hear that the Mirror version is noticeably plusher.
I'm not sold on the Power shape though, as I don't see the benefits of a shorter nose saddle myself. I can move about quite a bit at times so worry with a short nose saddle I'd have nothing left to move onto potentially.
