I have a big ride coming up, the Hirsch-Sprung in the Black forest, Germany. I'd like to change my stock 40T Apex chain ring for 38T, but looking at the other discussion on here they are difficult to find.
Could I swap out the 10-42 cassette for a 10-46 Shimano? or is it too difficult to set up given the already sensitive b screw positioning?
Alternatively, if anyone knows where to order the chain ring, let me know.
If your cassette is a 10-42 it'll be an XD driver fit, not a Shimano freehub.
Is it 4 or 5 arm Apex? If it's 5 you'll be able to get a ring, if its the bespoke 4-arm POS then you're stuffed.
I wanted a 38, but could only find 40t got mine from here.

The superstar ones are not compatible. I think you will be lucky.
