Been told I need a 36.0 seat clamp for my Merida carbon frame, can only find one that size online, surely a 36.4 would be ok? (I can find plenty of those online for sale)

As long as the gap closes up by the required 1.3mm, yes (unless the 36 shoud in fact be 36.4)
