The particular SRAM DUB BB I have (PF30 83mm AI - quite esoteric) and presumably all SRAM DUB PF BBs uses a 30x42x6 bearing. The 6 part makes these very, very uncommon it would seem. In fact the only reference and source I can find for them is for a Nukeproof BB https://www.wiggle.co.uk/nukeproof-bottom-bracket-bearings-6806-30x42x6

On the off chance... has anyone seen or found another source for these?

cheers,

Having tried a Nukeproof BB with those, I'd say avoid them at all costs

Well yes, the reviews are not very positive, hence why I want to find something better.

Yeah, their website has nothing, but maybe I could actually ask them.

Try Kinetic Bike Bearings

Likewise all x7 on their website but I'll contact them too.

Mystery solved thanks to Kinetic.

I should have measured it rather than go with the 6806W6 printed on the seal.

It's 30x40x6, which is one of these  https://www.kineticbikebearings.com/mr3040h6-2rs-dub-bottom-bracket-bearing.html

Also explains why the bearings are so tiny. Which in turn probably explains why the bearing is toast in what is a fairly lightly-used looking 2nd hand bike.

I thought that DUB ID was 28.99mm? Didn't sram make a big song and dance about how the extra 1.01mm let them use bigger balls?

It is - there's a 'top hat' inside the bearing to bring it down to 29mm.

But yes, I haven't opened a BB up for years - I only did this one as it's esoteric and I want to be able to replace just the bearing in the future - but the balls are tiny - just measured them at 2.7mm diameter.
