As above really. Getting out in the evening but it’s not full on light.

What would people recommend?

Thanks

Moon Nebula. Really bright either on solid / flashing or a pulse which is a combination of both.

Mine has done 2 winters (so far) of commuting 2-3 times a week regardless of weather. So it’s had a proper soaking - albeit I do run a rear mudguard so it isn’t getting road spray.

Still holding charge for ages / doesn’t need recharging that often etc.

I have been through a few and reckon the see sense Ace is pretty good. 38 quid though.

TraceR or one of the Smart pulse ones -- they're about £18-20, and have a variety of settings - on, or strobe flash. Run time long enough to just run all day.

Another vote for TraceR. Love mine. Solidly build, easy to use, bright, visible, lasts yonks.
Wish they did something similar at a similar cost for off road tbh. I'd be all over it.

TraceR, I often get comments from other cyclists about its visibility.
I also have the front Trace.
Two years of regular use in all weathers and still going strong.

I've been using a TraceR over the winter and am impressed so far.

Another TraceR vote.

Spare rubber bands or cable ties can have it mounted on your helmet using the seat post bracket, if the holes are in the right position

My Knog Blinder has been faultless for several years now. The USB connector is built in and the battery goes forever on the lazy flash setting.

On seatposts with layback it can be mounted upside down, where other lights would be pointing downwards.

I also have a TraceR, but the length of the light means that it's very easily knocked off centre without noticing, so it can be pointing away from traffic.

I have the exposure flash which is similar to the TraceR but as I have a weird shape seatpost on my Defy it doesn’t sit right and often ends facing away from the traffic.

Any brackets or tips to get it to stay put facing backwards?

Not sure of the exact profile of the Defy post, but I've used Sugru to good effect for my Canyon aero post.

I've been quite happy with one of these, lots of side visibility too..

Wilkinsons do one that looks very similar to the Moon. I have a Moon and 4 of the Wilko units. At around £5 they are great.
Edit: sorry £8.

Fenix BC05R is nice. Pretty bright, and good battery life, USB-C charging. Available for about £15.

I ended up getting the Exposure Trace/R light set for £50.

Very impressed with it, compact, well built, good light pattern.

Sugru shims are my answer to most light mounting problems.

On my TT bike I zip tie it a TraceR to one of the saddle rails with a lump of sugru between to hold it in position. Works perfectly. In other places I've used sugru between the bracket and frame.
