Nice big stack in mid december and broke the middle bone in my right thumb near the base (but not in the joint)

was prescribed 6 weeks in cast as I went to late to get it pissed but alignment was good anyway. In for follow up number 2, 1 month post break asked about getting riding again (2 week holiday planned in Mid march around a 3 day race) I was planing to be on the road bike early feb mtn bike late fed easy.
Was told they don't want me near a bike till at least mid march 🙁
So any one care to tell me it will all be fine!!
Will be in to see a physio/specialist asap with same questions.

I'm sure it will be fine, I broke my thumb there when I was a kid and its never given me any problems since.
Think yourself lucky, I'm about to start chemo and radio therapy for cancer and the doc says I'll be off the bike for 6 months at least.
Yep a thumb sounds trivial compared to that...
Just really seeking opinion as I had the fastest multi junior doc half a second consultant review today.
Yes, it will definitely be fine by then.
