I have a large and varied collection of lubes after years of experimenting
Should I or shouldn't i
Can't you just stick to water based gel like KY.
If you mean using 3 in 1 oil on your chain then I wouldn't bother. Being a cheapskate I tried it and it didn't last more than a few hours on a wet ride.
I used it as a dry weather lube for a while and thought it was good.
I noticed that it wasn't called oil anymore. Then you notice that a lot of lubes aren't advertised as oil. What are they?
So America dosnt come to free them. Lube is safer.
3-in-1 is an ok machine oil for wheelbuildng purposes and maybe locks, hinges etc.
Wouldn't be on my list for a chainlube though. Â Apart from anything else it's s-t-i-c-k-y...
use a synthetic motor oil works well
Works ok in shimano brakes.
on a chain EP90 gear oil is better. Use it sparingly though.
