Anyone done this? How did you find it? Planning to do it at the end of August and just wondering what people thought of it. It looks fantastic but i really need to up my fitness before i go, i'd be stuffed if i tried now.

Done it unguided and had friends go with MBMB - ace both ways, just one's cheaper, more hassle and less certain.

Sam - We went with MBMB in 1999. Friends loved it so much they returned the following year to ride the 3 Countries Tour and loved that even more.( I couldn't afford it).
Getting you fitness up will indeed make it more enjoyable for you.

I think Chipps wrote an article about it in a STmag a few years ago. I'll try and dig it out for you.

Haven't done the 3 countries, but went to Chamonix with MBMB a few(several) years ago & couldn't fault them.

Cheers all. That'd be great Jane, thanks. I've got 6 weeks off before we go out there anyway, but starting early will only make it easier.

I went with MBMB on the 3CT early September this year. Amazing experience and well worth it. Well it was for me anyway as it was my first Alps trip. Some of the climbs and descents challenging. Great fun though, amazing scenery and an achievement. There is certainly nothing to compare it against in the UK.

The fitter you are the more you'll enjoy it. You just need to practice one in ten climbs and steep techy switchbacks 🙂

Used to steep climbs, unfortunately there's a distinct lack of steep techy switchbacks in the Peak Distict 🙁 I've never really ridden much steep stuff, it'll all be good fun with mates though i'm sure 🙂
