Wondering why more recent (to me) cranksets don't have bashguards.
If I want to have one on a 2x10 setup would I use a 3x10 crankset and replace the outer ring and would a 2x10 front mech accommodate this.

I have this setup on a set of Race Face turbine cranks, as far as I know it's the same as the 3x chainset but with the outer chainring replaced with the bashguard.
I run a standard front mech with the limit stop adjusted to stop it moving past the middle ring. I'd be concerned that on a 2x only front mech it wouldn't drop onto the granny ring as don't 2x chainsets have the inner ring further outboard?

I think 2x specific cranksets have both rings a couple of mm further outboard.
