whats out there .

more specifically - in the 49-52mm chainline rather than the 55mm chainline and 24mm axle as BB92 doesnt like 30mm

most doubles with integrated ring/spider are too small typically being a 28-38 set up.

I want a 30/42 which can be done with a standard spider and some rings from TA

XTR M9120 fits the bill - but as far as i can see no one makes a dumb spider - One up make a specific one up single ring spider with funny BCD - and SPM make a power meter 4 arm 104 spider .....

XT M7120 is 55mm chainline which by all accounts makes front mech choice difficult.

Aefect R is the natural choice - with a spider ..... - anything a bit nicer?

Middleburn?

https://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/product/rs8-x-type-duo-spider-104-64bcd/

They do this spider... It says not boost but it's a 50mm chainline which falls in line with what your after.

Edit. Just realised your chainring sizes. You looking for a 104bcd twin ring? Also realised I linked the mono one before.

Should still be possible to get a cinch 2x spider. That means raceface turbines or any of the burlier 30mm cranks become an option. The different axle lengths should allow you to tune chain line. There is also an asymmetric easton version for larger (110bcd) rings.

I think there may be a double spider for cane creek Ewings. But the cheap option 😜. Depending on what standard they used that could be fitted to other cranks.

Edit: sorry did not read the axle size 🤪.

30mm axle cranks are a non starter.

i dont need burly - I want bigger gears. Think Gravel bike - but proper clearance and MTB hubs.

Trying to avoid the very pricy and over sized Easton cinch double ring set up. - talking 180 quid - and i dont need 46 - 42 will likely be where i settle.

Seen this - unconventional but tidy ..... id have silvers mind just like i had in 2001

i think thats a 55mm rohloff spider with the rings mounted inboard on a cutthroat

Either way I've asked keep peddling for a price for the package inc the front mech - save me ****ing about trial and error..... failing that i have a fair idea what i need to do.

is shimano grx available with boost spacing? pretty close to the gearing you want. the spec sheet shows 49.7mm chainline but that might only be for 1x

edit : or FC-T8000 - XT treking? I think its 104BCD - I don't know if that's what you're after?

I got to xT touring also but it’s spendy for what it is and I still need new chainrings- not much more for the middle burn

No grx in boost - that’s part of the issue. Rest of bikes grx

Stock bike comes with race face aefect and some pricy Easton rings.

Middleburn annoyed me and reminded me why I didn’t replace my duo rs7 rings years ago…….

Their stock levels are all over the shop even with the new owner and email response is nothing like when rich used to deal with it… (silence) Decided not to risk it.

Found I can get a 4x104 and 4x96 for xtr fc m9120

So shall we have a sweeper on xtr m9120 double fitting a v2 cutthroat….. it’s not supposed to but a mock up using a few different cranks and ring combos I have plus a ruler says it may fit. There’s the odd person saying they did it - but never any photos.

Shimano list it as 50.4 to inner ring

It’ll be here tomorrow.

Edit - keep pedalling were great. I now know that’s a v1 cutty and you could fit almost anything to them if you could live with the geometry ……….
