I basically want one of these, but which isn't crap:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-4V-9600mAh-Rechargeable-18650-Battery-Pack-For-LED-Bicycle-Bike-light-Headlamp/222372030426

Even better would be if I could put my own, individual 18650 cells in (i.e. not awful recycled ones from laptops that are going to catch fire if I forget about them).

Any leads? My google and eBay foo are failing me.

Something like this? It's what I use with my Solarstorm and 18650s bought from Torchy

I think CandBseen used to have a 2 cell holder. - it wasn't cheap though so I never bothered

@steve...thanks that looks the ticket.

@toby... are those 4x holders any good? Do the contacts stay good even with impacts off road?

Yup, works fine for me, top screws in firmly and there's also a nut that secures the cable connector for Solarstorm lights. Though I've not had it come undone when I used lights without the overnut.

I've seen some places sell them as 2 / 4 cell holders, so I presume you can run them with just two cells in if you're worried about weight.

I have one of those four cells packs. Cell selection is key in my view. If you choose high capacity cells, it can take all day to charge them. Conversely, when fully charged the battery pack will last up to 12 hours on full light output.

That two cell pack looks good, the high capacity of the pack should be more than enough for a 3 hour night ride and reasonably quick to charge too.
