He's been eyeing this up for a long time now , every time he comes to our house he's tried it for size . Finally with perfect timing it fits ! It's a Cove Hand job frame ( explanation later )made with Colombus tubing , Chris King headset RS forks those are the highlights the rest perfectly fine for a 9 year old .It was mine originally Matt Black passed on to Mrs OF who had it resprayed at Argos minus the Hand job decals !She's now moved on to Electric. Only thing grandson didn't like before was semi slicks so I whacked a pair of knobbies on .

He got on it and rode off down the lane came back popping little wheelies with the biggest grin ever ! How it got dusty outside I'll never know! Proper made my day !

Aren't bikes brilliant!!!!!!!

Failed emoji? I've not figured them out yet either

Great looking bike, no wonder you're all happy/proud/emotional.

Love this.

Just bought my lad a 24 inch bike. I've now got an eye out for nice 26 inch bikes for his next one.

The bikes that cost us all ££££ 20 odd years ago that are dripping in hope stuff but seem to go for just a couple of hundred quid. Orange five diva etc.

@oldfart I have a set of hardly used Tektro hydraulic brakes that you can have for your Grandson if you’d like them? Free! The hoses should be plenty long enough as they came off my Wo and I can probably send spare olives and barbs. I was saving them for my grandson but as he’s not yet three I’m sure that by the time he requires some I will have some more for him. Message me and if it works I will eventually get back to you!

Lol... Is this an excuse to get that Curtis on STW again?!

He looks made up with the bike. Great stuff 🙂

I used to have a HJ with that fork.

Pretty flexy and short frame, but I loved it.

Hope the lad enjoys it.

Well he looks as happy as kids do with a new bike. But what size are those rotor s? not 180 are they ? Might pitch the wee chap over the front.

@dyna-ti yeah get big rotors but Avid cable brakes aren't exactly positive!

@wheelsonfire might be sorting out some better brakes then I can have another look. He's fine at the moment, got an issue with fatter rear tyre and granny ring but so much potential to spend too much until we find out if it's a long term love affair! For now he's happy in the middle ring just using the gears outback like he's been used to .

Ideally go 1 X in the future but could end up spending more than what can buy new Carrera wise , that'll be his choice.
