I love bikes me...and I'm sure Paul loves bikes even more than I do. But sometimes I just feel the world of bikes and bike part designers doesn't do themselves any favours. I should really like this high artisan style but a voice in my head just keeps shouting Swarovski.....I mean its all a bit meh and sick making really
What do you guys think?
What do you guys think?
I think that you can get the most powerful brakes available for €1100. Not that much less exclusive either.
Anyone with the taste to like that set will have money down the back of their artisan sofa
But, but they come with a custom made, American poplar case.
Presumably to keep your sense of perspective in.
I like the colour though.
You could buy a car for that... 😉
But yeah "artisanal" bike parts are a bit meh really these days. It's all been done before... By Paul components in fact.
As non-limited edition parts, this lot comes in at nearly $700. But you're still paying a big chunk for the rarity and the wooden box.
I spend a bit of time each week browsing The Radavist. I'm not going to buy these monstrously pricey and purple brakes, but I'll be perfectly happy to see them crop up on some bizarre hand-built klunker that a cheerful lesbian in a novelty hat has built for a bike-packing and fly-fishing trip somewhere with lots of scenery. It's all good. 🙂
they sell for $1,989… but they sure are pretty.
Um, no, no they're not.
Paul's are a tiny company, with almost zero marketing budget but a whole load of in house CNC machinery, so how do they get people to remember they exist...?
Yup...this.
Fair play to them, they'll sell the 30 sets no trouble and people all over the world will be reminded of the brand, Win-win.
Thier chain keeper's a lovely bit of kit, ran it on my Fortitude for years and intend to dig it out of retirement when my gravel bike goes 1 x.
No one will actually use these - they'll be stuck in a a display case in an office somewhere. And in 20 years time may be retro enough to go up in value.
I have some paul love levers and they are indeed lovely as is all paul components stuff, they'll sell them all easily
