Hi all
Just got back in the saddle after 22 years and I'm totally hooked
I have done a bit of research and decided that I want a 29er, I just ride XC, single track and bit of pottering about, maybe 20miles a week. I'm 6ft2 and 205lbs
I really like the classic look of the Charge Cooker Hi which sells for £999 and the Jamis Dragon 29er Sport which is £899, I just wondered if anyone had any real life experience with either of them or could maybe suggest something else

Many thanks

No direct experience but I have a Jamis Dakota Elite 2008 and I love it. Really well made, light and great fun to ride.
Our Inbred 29er X5 bike is in a forthcoming issue of this magazine, and I think offers excellent value compared to those two models mentioned.

Seenthe Jamis in the flesh. Very nice, especially the 853 one.
hi
I have a charge cooker hi 29er.
Brilliant bike.
I have put a hope/crest tubless on front and changed tyres to mud x.
Can do everything that could do on 26er but easier.
It is on the heavy side but worth upgrading wheels forks as needed to make it a decent weight.
I bought the cooker to compliment my fantastic ragley blue pig.
BUT i like the cooker so much that the pig has been idle in celler since january when got the cooker (sad) but am sure that the on one will be great as well.

I'd go for the Jamis, better fork and doesn't weigh a ton!!
jamis in 650b flavour

Whodathunkiteh?
🙄
the jamis looks good but is about the same weight as the cooker.
It does not feel heavy at all and rides great. when I said a little on the heavy side i meant compared to some others that I looked at that are good few hundred more to buy. Namely the scott elite.

Should offer that Inbred deal with a steel fork, like one on the Genesis/Swift etc.
But for the OP...Genesis Fortitude SS.
