Does anyone know a wheelbuilder who stocks and builds 29in wheels? Preferably in the Bath region, otherwise mail order. I'm looking to transfer a Maverick hub onto a 29er rim, and get a Hope Pro II built on to the same rim out back.
Cheers.
Los

Webbs of Warmley recently built me up some 29er/hybrid wheels from my choice of rims and hubs. They are an excellent build. They could order in the rim and build up whatever you wanted. There are few 29er wheel specialists in the UK - any good wheel builder should be able to do the job.

Any decent wheel builder should not have any problem building 29ers.

they are just 700c wheels (i.e. road bike wheels) 29er is nothing special just a beefier road wheel

so any shop that is good a building will do, they will just need to get specific for mtb rims if they dont stock as they are usually wider/strong etc to mtb duties but if they normally can get hope, mavic etc than should be no issues getting stuff in

condor cycles in grays in road, london.

if he is still building wheels; monty is the best wheelbuilder ever.

its top end prices, but his wheels and i have had three have never needed to be nipped in, unbuckled etc. i have done thousands of miles of miles on them, the rims wore out before anything else.

worth the travel and price.

Tim at Sideways built my Mav on stans arch 29er wheel.
Mav's are a little difficult to fit in some jigs and there is something funny in dishing the front wheel (or not) I think. Best look on the Mavreick site and check that one

Try me at Evans Cycles on The Cut. (Yup, oi've got me trumpet out and I'm blowing it with gusto, but that aside, I know I can build wheels with the best of 'em...)

EDIT: oh, and don't worry about finding a place that 'specialises' in 29er wheels. As people have said any good bike shop will be able to do a fine job. Buy whichever components suit your needs, online if you can't source them locally, and take those bits to your trusted LBS.
